Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: camera downgrade with the same 108 MP sensor

The Samsung UNPACKED event will take place in a few days and the new flagships of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series will be presented there.

After quite extensive leaks in the past few days that reveal the specifications of the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra , there is now disappointing news. The hardware of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra is based on the Galaxy S20 Ultra, but with some downgrades.

Samsung does not seem to have really overcome the previous problems with the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, so it would rather take a step back than forward.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra camera will downgrade

The Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will have a large 1 / 1.33 ″ sensor with 108 MP resolution installed. This is not big news, it is already known and identical to that of the Galaxy S20 Ultra. This sensor will offer 8K video recording, but it will still be limited to 24fps. This is somewhat disappointing as the SD865 flagship already allows 8K @ 30fps shots.

In addition, some reports indicated that autofocus supports phase detection. It continues with the periscope zoom camera. The 1 / 2.0 ″ sensor with 48 MP is gone, instead there is now a 1 / 3.6 ″ sensor with 12 MP resolution. However, the lens can offer 5x magnification and OIS. The aperture is a little brighter, f / 3.0. However, there is only 50X space zoom.

There is also a 12 MP ultra wide-angle camera with a 120 ° field of view, but the 3D ToF sensor is removed. Instead, Samsung uses a laser autofocus for the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.
