Orange starts with its 5G. Here is the list of Hello5G compatible devices

As announced, Orange has just launched its 5G network. We already know what devices received Hello5G support in the first place.

Orange telecoms did not see the need to launch the 5th generation networks in the band previously used by LTE a few months ago, but the market situation has changed. Due to the turbulence associated with the 5G auction , Orange announced a few weeks ago that its 5G on the 2100 MHz band will start operating in July.

The operator kept his promise, and Hello5G from Orange has just started working.

As promised, subscribers of selected subscription offers and company plans may use Orange’s 5th generation network – provided, of course, that they are within its range and have a compatible device. The list of supported devices is quite short, just like the competition.

Among the devices that will allow the use of 5G in Orange, there were three Xiaomi smartphones (Xiaomi Mi 10, Xiaomi Mi 10 Lite and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro), two phones from Huaweia (Huawei P40 and Huawei P40 Pro) and two devices from other brands (Motorola Edge, LG Velvet). Of course, their number is to steadily increase.

5G in Orange – for whom?

Owners of the above devices will get access to 5G without additional fees after updating the software to the latest version, as long as they have the appropriate tariff purchased. Unfortunately, users of Prepaid and Mix offers, as well as Nju subscribers, have to get around the taste at least for now.

Individual customers are supported by Mobilny Plan 75 and a mobile subscription in Orange Love Extra, as well as Premium purchased on March 12, 2020 or later. For business customers, access to Hello5G is granted to those who have decided on L or XL Company Plans after February 24, 2020.

Company plan users can access Hello5G as part of a service called 5G for Business, which was priced at PLN 9.9 (excluding VAT) per month. Orange announced that work is currently underway to launch a 5th generation network for Orange Flex customers, but subscribers must be patient.

What about 5G coverage in Orange ?

Orange boasts that with 5G in the 2100 MHz band it covers 6 million people in nearly 400 cities. The operator lists larger cities such as Warsaw, Łódź, Kraków, Wrocław, Poznań, Rzeszów and Kielce, as well as the cities of the Upper Silesian Industrial District.

Jean-François Fallacher, President of Orange Polska, boasts that none of the competing telecoms currently offers such a high coverage coverage. Unlike the competition, Orange does not activate the network to its subscribers, however, automatically. They must enable the use of 5G on their My Orange account themselves.

Customers of Plan Mobilny 75 and Orange Love Extra and Premium tariffs who decide to activate 5G will receive an additional 40 GB package, but in the case of the Love package it will be necessary to sign an annex to the contract. However, this will not involve a change in the monthly commitment amount.
